Inspired by the 3,000 nautical miles of open water that transformed Laura from traveller to adventurer. The blue, waterproof quality of the strap represents this transatlantic adventure in the little 38ft trimaran sailing across the big, open expanse.
“ Sitting behind the steering wheel at 2 am, my right hand lightly controlling the helm and my left hand tucked in my pocket. I was watching out for icebergs! We were in colder waters now. On the left-hand side, I could see something coming closer, it was stirring up all the bioluminescence, I panicked, was this an iceberg? A torpedo? Was it going to hit us? In two small waves, it was next to the boat and just stayed there, travelling in sync with us. Panic turned into relief, which then turned into a huge smile as the dolphin jumped out of the water. It's one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen, a dolphin in the dead of night, staying by my side stirring up bioluminescence and leaving the most beautiful turquoise blue light in its wake. Simply magical.

Inspired by her biggest expedition yet, the green strap represents the green jungle that Laura traversed during her 10-week journey and the strengthened understanding of the need to collectively safeguard these life filled wonders for future generations. This realisation came while paddling down the river as she witnessed the harmony and beauty of the jungle juxtaposed against the deforestation and destruction of man. The green strap embodies her, along with millions of others, belief that we should serve nature not the other way around.
“Laying in my hammock after a long days kayaking, gently swaying back and forth, everyone drifting to sleep to the gentle sounds of the jungle. When a deep throaty huff was heard coming from the jungle, a jaguar was close by - a noise we’d become accustomed to hearing, part of our nighttime melody even. However, our plan should the jaguar come too close… jump into the kayaks and paddle away! But then a sound comes from the water, a territorial caveman was asserting his ground. I remember realising that we were now trapped between jungle and water, knowing that it was time to "pray and be quiet”, we waited in the deafening silence.

This watch represents a more personal adventure for Laura, while in the heart of Australia surrounded by sand-coloured rocks, Laura's now-husband asked her to marry him on the Larapinta trail, at the ‘Bridal lookout’. This is a journey of the heart, as much as it is the physical expedition.
The perfectly imperfect story. “Fly nets covering our face and the jet boil heating enough water for two. We had just stopped at the Bridal lookout for our final night of camping, we sat there appreciating the changing colours in the sunset sky which was setting in the wrong direction and hidden by the mountains. Ed, like the perfect gentleman, went to his rucksack and retrieved a pale blue Tiffany bag, “I've never met anyone like you, will you marry me?” and handed me the bag. I promptly and cheekily said with a wink, “you can't just hand me the bag”, he smiles, opens the box and holds it out in from of me, the ring sparkling in the sunset. I was so happy this moment had come, tears filling my eyes, I said ‘yes’ without a doubt in my mind. We looked at each other, dishevelled from the days of adventure and giggled, lifted up our fly nets (which we still had on!) and kissed. Together, we enjoyed our food as the sun invisibly set behind the mountain and warmly laughed. I wouldn't change a thing.
