'Yours & Theirs' watches - a timeless gift or a hint of anachronism?

There's no doubt that the world is a changing place, with couples wanting very different things from each other and for their relationships than they did even a few decades ago. We ask, is there still a place for the traditional gift of a 'his and hers / his and his / hers and hers’ watch set or is it an anachronism?

Of course, we believe the answer is yes, there is still a place for those who want to express something about their relationship in this way. Matching watches continue to be a statement that couples wish to make, a way of showing their bond and carrying with them a wearable reminder of that sense of unity.

Many ranges offer ‘couple combination’ versions of the same watch, or you could choose a gender-neutral style such as our Confluence Range, which looks great on any wrist. You can either showcase the same model in the same colours for that complete unity, or if you’d rather mix it up slightly more, people will often choose different coloured time pieces from the same manufacturer, think a rose gold for one and the stainless steal for the other. Perhaps one has a brown leather strap and one a black leather strap, or even a slightly more interesting green strap (like our Confluence 00).

We also like to think that wearing matching watches is also another way that a couple can make a commitment to each other, a commitment that encapsulates both the future and the present moment. Wearing a simple time piece allows them to focus on what is important: spending time together rather than wearing smart watches which interrupt their time together with notifications of emails or text alerts.

With all this in mind, if you're in a happy relationship and looking to buy a watch, why not consider ‘couple combination’.
